Ahsan Qamer Sheikh

Ahsan Qamer Sheikh

Chair

Ahsan Qamer Sheikh is working as a Planning Engineer for traffic facilities at PLABIS IG mbH & Co. KG. He has expertise in strategy and designing of large-scale complex infrastructure and networks across Germany. He received his master´s degree in Infrastructure planning from University of Stuttgart, Germany. Besides his day job, he is passionate about community engagements and technology management. He is an IEEE member for the past 11 years and has served on several volunteer positions including Vice Chair - IEEE YP Germany Section. Previously, he has also served as member of MGA SAC excellence team and Section Student Representative of IEEE Karachi Section. He aims to bridge the gap between industry and academia and to bring more networking opportunities among Young Professionals in the region.

Sevda Abadpour

Sevda Abadpour

Vice-Chair

Dr. Sevda Abadpour (Senior Member, IEEE) received her M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT), Tehran, Iran. In 2017, she joined the Institute of Radio Frequency Engineering and Electronics (IHE) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Karlsruhe, Germany, to pursue a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. Her research focuses on automotive radar development and channel modeling. She is the author of one book, over 15 peer-reviewed scientific articles, and more than 10 international conference presentations. Her work includes radar cross-section (RCS) measurement for traffic participants and the development of radar models for over-the-air (OTA) vehicle-in-the-loop (ViL) testing method. In September 2023, she joined Cruise Munich as a Senior Radar Engineer, where she advanced next-generation automotive radar systems. Starting 2025, she transitioned to Qorvo as a Staff Development Engineer, continuing her focus on innovative radar solutions. Dr. Abadpour has been an active member of IEEE for over 13 years. She served as the Secretary of the IEEE Electron Devices Society (EDS) chapter from 2020 to 2022, the Secretary of IEEE Young Professionals (YP) from 2019 to 2021, and the Vice Chair of the IEEE YP Affinity Group (Germany Section) for the 2025–2027 term. Additionally, she contributes as a scientific reviewer for IEEE journals and transactions. Prior to her Ph.D., she gained substantial industry experience from 2011 to 2017 after completing her M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering. She began her career as an R&D engineer, specializing in the design and fabrication of microwave circuits. She later served as a technical manager, leading the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) testing department for telecommunication and automotive equipment.

Tanvir is a Master's student in Web Engineering at TU Chemnitz and a professional software engineer. As Vice Chair of the IEEE TU Chemnitz Student Branch, he promotes the event and manages public relations through social media management, press releases, promotional materials, and social media contests around the event theme. With over two years of volunteer experience in IEEE Region 8, Tanvir has served as Webmaster and Vice Chair, showcasing his passion for technology and community involvement.

Ikram Touir, a software developer since 2018 and a Full Stack Developer at Joobo.de in Düsseldorf Germany, has a rich and diverse professional journey. Before 2018, Ekram Touir, served as a researcher, delving into various realms of inquiry. Simultaneously, since 2015, they have held influential steering positions within the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), showcasing their technical prowess, leadership, and commitment to advancing technology. Although their current role may not directly involve artificial intelligence, Ikram Touir carries a multifaceted background that underscores their deep engagement in the field's technical and leadership aspects.

Mahmoud Nasif

Activities Lead

Mahmoud Nasif is a passionate volunteer who believes in the power of community engagement and professional development to create meaningful change. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Mechatronics at TU Hamburg and working as a Software Robotics Engineer at bAhead GmbH, a robotics company based in Hamburg. Mahmoud’s technical expertise is centered on robotics and automation, with a strong focus on robotic arms, robotics simulations, computer vision, and Linux-based microprocessors, particularly Nvidia platforms. An active IEEE member for three years and a dedicated volunteer for seven, Mahmoud finds great fulfilment in contributing to the IEEE community. He is currently serving as the Activities Lead for the IEEE Young Professionals (YP) Germany Section and is the Founder and First Chair of the Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) Chapter of the IEEE Germany Section. His journey with IEEE began during his undergraduate studies in Egypt, where he served as Chairman of his university's IEEE Student Branch in 2022. He actively participated in numerous IEEE YP Egypt events and Student and Young Professionals (SYP) Congresses, gaining extensive experience in event organization and community building. Motivated by a desire to inspire and empower others, Mahmoud is committed to continuing his impactful journey within the IEEE community. His vision includes fostering collaboration, advancing the fields of robotics and automation, and mentoring the next generation of engineers and technologists.

Currently, he serves as the Social Media Lead for the IEEE Young Professionals Germany Section, where he continues to contribute to the professional development and networking of IEEE members.

Xulu Zeng

MAG Lead

Xulu Zeng is a process engineer working for Aixtron, a semiconductor equipment provider in Aachen, Germany. He graduated from Sichuan University (bachelor's), the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (master's), and Lund University (doctorate), focusing on compound semiconductor optoelectronic materials and devices. During his academic period, he published 27 journal papers, owned 3 patents, and attended several international conferences, including giving a conference talk at the 44th IEEE PVSC (Washington DC, 2017). Since then, he has been a member of IEEE for 8 years. As an industry enthusiast, he strives to build the necessary professional and personal skills to shoulder greater responsibility and succeed in companies. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities, badminton, and kendo. He is a volunteering Ambassador of InterNations, hosting social activities for international expats in the city of Aachen.

Oumayma is a PhD student in Distributed Artificial Intelligence at Technische Universität Chemnitz and an applied computer science engineer. She has been an active volunteer with IEEE, serving as the treasurer of the IEEE TU Chemnitz Student Branch and the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Germany Section. Oumayma manages the event's budget and financial planning, handling budgeting, expense tracking, and financial reporting. She has contributed to the organization of three conferences and regularly participates in national and international IEEE meetings and workshops.

Swantje Plambeck is a research assistant at Hamburg University of Technology in Computer Engineering. An active IEEE volunteer for nearly 10 years, she has served as WIE Chair, Treasurer, and Chair of the local Student Branch in Hamburg, attending national and international IEEE meetings and workshops. Swantje manages all logistical aspects of the event, including venue arrangements, catering, transportation, and on-site operations.

Yevhenii Shudrenko

Yevhenii is a research fellow at the Institute of Communication Networks at Hamburg University of Technology, focusing on reliable Wireless Sensor Networks. As Treasurer of IEEE Student Branch Hamburg, he handles participant registration and coordinates volunteers, managing the registration process, volunteer recruitment, and training. Having participated in WESYP 2023 and SYP 2024, Yevhenii is dedicated to ensuring a smooth WESYP Hamburg experience and fostering international collaboration.

Mahmoud is a Mechatronics Master's student at TU Hamburg and a software robotics engineer at bAhead GmbH, specializing in robotics and automation. With over 6 years as an IEEE volunteer and 3 years as a member, he has served as Chairman of his previous university student branch in 2022 and participated in YP Egypt events and SYPs. Mahmoud secures funding and sponsorships for the event by approaching potential sponsors and managing sponsorship packages, aiming to influence the IEEE community in Germany.

Emna Amri, a University Lecturer with a PhD in Computer Science, bridges industry and academia with a focus on health, safety, environment, and machine learning applications. As Chair of the IEEE Young Professionals France Section and an active Women in Engineering (WIE) member, she ensures the event promotes diversity and inclusivity by fostering a welcoming environment, promoting gender equity, and organizing WIE-related sessions. Her IEEE roles include R8 SYP 2024 participation and membership in the IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Visitors Program and Global Climate Change Task Force.

Rajitha de Silva is a researcher in computer science, specializing in computer vision for robotics, and currently a post-doctoral research associate in robotic perception at the University of Lincoln. With over 10 years of volunteering experience across IEEE Regions 10 and 8, he has held roles like Secretary for IEEE UK and Ireland Young Professionals and Co-Chair for the IEEE UK and Ireland Young Professionals PGR STEM Symposium. Rajitha manages the technical content of the event, including speaker invitations, organizing the event program, and overseeing technical sessions, with a history of organizing major events like the IEEE Region 10 Humanitarian Technology Conference and IEEE PES Global Student Congress.

With professional experience at Global Charge Ltd in London and Interstoff Apparels Ltd in Dhaka, Tamanna has built strong expertise in backend development using Java Spring Boot and Node.js. She is passionate about technology, community engagement, and innovation, with a particular enthusiasm for artificial intelligence and the development of semantic databases to support AI systems.
